Par contre, l&rsquo; \u00ab\u00a0Audacieux\u00a0\u00bb de Monsieur Mudry ne l&rsquo;entendit pas de cette oreille; une fois gr\u00e9\u00e9 et mis \u00e0 l&rsquo;eau, ce coursier, qui avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait ses preuves, nous invita \u00e0 relever le d\u00e9fi. Le L\u00e9man ne devait pas se laisser intimider par la mer, si mauvaise fut-elle, et elle l&rsquo;\u00e9tait !<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>C&rsquo;est ainsi que pour la r\u00e9gate d&rsquo;entra\u00eenement l&rsquo; \u00ab\u00a0Audacieux\u00a0\u00bb, toutes voiles dehors, s&rsquo;y reprenait \u00e0 trois fois et sortait enfin du port dans le sillage de \u00ab\u00a0l&rsquo;Ile de France\u00a0\u00bb. Neptune s&rsquo;en offensa-t-il? Nous en f\u00fbmes certains quelques instants plus tard. Ah! ces vagues qui vous donnent le go\u00fbt du sel et cinquante litres d&rsquo;eau \u00e0 \u00e9coper.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Le signal est donn\u00e9. Mais de quel c\u00f4t\u00e9 partir? car au Havre le d\u00e9part est donn\u00e9 aussi bien vent debout que vent arri\u00e8re. Combien nous regrettons le coup de sifflet sympathique donn\u00e9 au Quai de Ripaille quand tous les retardataires sont sur la ligne de d\u00e9part! Les pavillons du s\u00e9maphore ne nous disent rien, mais apr\u00e8s avoir gagn\u00e9 la r\u00e9gate d&rsquo;entra\u00eenement, nous les connaissons assez pour remarquer un \u00ab\u00a0N\u00a0\u00bb flamboyant nous annon\u00e7ant que la premi\u00e8re place si durement gagn\u00e9e nous \u00e9chappait. La premi\u00e8re r\u00e9gate comptant au classement \u00e9tait annul\u00e9e.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Sans se d\u00e9courager pour autant l&rsquo; \u00ab\u00a0Audacieux\u00a0\u00bb et son \u00e9quipage s&rsquo;adjugeaient le lendemain, gr\u00e2ce aux voiles am\u00e9ricaines, une brillante premi\u00e8re place qui ne fut pas contest\u00e9e. Vraiment, on n&rsquo;attendait pas autant du L\u00e9man: trois r\u00e9gates, trois \u00ab\u00a0premier\u00a0\u00bb. Mais pour tout avouer la temp\u00eate s&rsquo;\u00e9tait apais\u00e9e, faisant place \u00e0 une brise comme sur notre lac. \u00ab\u00a0Mais attendez un peu, murmurait-on, si le vent fra\u00eechit \u00ab\u00a0ils\u00a0\u00bb ne tiendront pas\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Aux r\u00e9gates suivantes, la mer n&rsquo;\u00e9tait pas belle. Et quelle ne fut pas la stup\u00e9faction g\u00e9n\u00e9rale en voyant l&rsquo; \u00ab\u00a0Audacieux\u00a0\u00bb, souvent mal parti, prendre bient\u00f4t la t\u00eate et la conserver durant les trois-quarts du parcours, pour se faire finalement doubler juste \u00e0 l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipage ext\u00e9nu\u00e9 ne pouvait plus man\u0153uvrer le bateau trop ardent et trop l\u00e9ger. Pourtant l&rsquo; \u00ab\u00a0Audacieux\u00a0\u00bb gardait la t\u00eate du classement, m\u00eame par gros temps. Aussi fut-il brillamment d\u00e9log\u00e9 de sa position de leader par une disqualification sur laquelle nous ne reviendrons pas&#8230; Rel\u00e9gu\u00e9 du coup, \u00e0 la quatri\u00e8me place, le bateau du L\u00e9man, montrant de quoi il \u00e9tait capable, enleva sans discussion la r\u00e9gate de cl\u00f4ture sous le nez de plusieurs concurrents ligu\u00e9s en vain contre lui. Il se trouvait \u00e0 la deuxi\u00e8me place du classement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, mais l&rsquo;honneur \u00e9tait sauf. Il n&rsquo;en fallut pas plus pour que l&rsquo; \u00ab\u00a0Audacieux\u00a0\u00bb se v\u00eet assailli par une d\u00e9l\u00e9gation de snipistes des plus minutieux, arm\u00e9s de m\u00e8tres et de pieds \u00e0 coulisse: longueur du mat, surface des voiles, \u00e9paisseur des couples, etc&#8230;, tout fut v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 sous le sourire ironique de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipage.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Pour son premier essai dans cette comp\u00e9tition qu&rsquo;est le Championnat de France des snipes, la S. N. L. F. a montr\u00e9 qu&rsquo;elle prend de l&rsquo;importance et est capable de s&rsquo;imposer. Qu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;occasion de ce compte rendu, son Comit\u00e9 soit remerci\u00e9 ainsi que Monsieur Mudry, propri\u00e9taire de l&rsquo; \u00ab\u00a0Audacieux\u00a0\u00bb, pour leur aide pr\u00e9cieuse qui a permis la participation du \u00ab\u00a0L\u00e9man\u00a0\u00bb \u00e0 ces Championnats.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Nous terminerons en souhaitant que la S. N. L.
